We Scanned 48 Dental Clinic Websites in Izmir: Does AI Recognise Your Clinic?
Patients now ask ChatGPT and Perplexity "a good implant dentist in Izmir?" as often as they ask Google. Health is the second most common topic people research with AI before buying. To answer, AI reads clinic websites with its own bots. We measured how ready Izmir's dental clinics are.

- List: 48 dental clinics with their own website, found by searching Google Maps district by district in Izmir
- Tool: WoodstoneStudio site scan, 10 areas and 78 signals per homepage
- Speed: Google PageSpeed, mobile lab measurement

At a glance: average 71.5
The 45 clinics averaged 71.5 out of 100 (median 77): 21 Good, 15 Needs work, 8 Weak, 1 Critical. That's almost the same as Turkey's biggest websites (72.6).
Good news: the door is open
No clinic blocks AI bots in robots.txt; AI access averages 94. Only 3 sites (7%) had a security layer reject a request with the ChatGPT search bot's identity.
The real gap: AI can't recognise the clinic
- 42% (19 clinics) have no structured data at all, so address, phone, hours, dentists and treatments aren't machine-readable. AI is especially cautious when choosing health sources.
- Brand and entity (58) and structured data (53) are the weakest areas.
- 82% have no llms.txt.
Shared on WhatsApp, no preview
12 clinics (27%) have no share preview: when the link is shared on WhatsApp or Instagram, no title or image appears.
Speed: better than big sites, still slow
- Average mobile PageSpeed 65 (43 for Turkey's biggest sites)
- 5 of 42 at 90 or above, 8 below 50
- Median LCP 5.6 seconds; only 2 under Google's recommended 2.5 seconds
Security: serious gaps on 5 sites
5 clinics score below 10 out of 100 on security, meaning HTTPS or basic security settings are missing. Patients won't fill in a booking form when the browser shows "Not secure".

5 steps for your clinic website
- Add structured data: Dentist (LocalBusiness) schema with address, phone, hours and dentist details.
- Write real FAQs as headings with short, clear answers.
- Set up share previews: og:title, og:description and a 1200×630 og:image.
- Check HTTPS and redirects.
